Excellence, Innovation, and Accountability
I believe that the foundation of a strong school district lies in collaboration. As a community, we must work together—listening to parents, teachers, and students—to ensure that our schools reflect the values and aspirations of the people they serve. Your concerns, ideas, and feedback are essential in shaping policies that truly benefit our children and their future.
I am committed to fostering an environment that supports both academic excellence and holistic development. While high academic standards are crucial, we must also nurture free speech, creativity, and critical thinking. Our schools should be safe, welcoming spaces where students feel empowered to explore, learn, and grow.
Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. Addressing disparities in educational outcomes is not just an aspiration—it’s a necessity. We must ensure that all students, regardless of their background or circumstances, have the resources and support they need to thrive.
The most important factor in our children’s education is having excellent teachers in our classrooms and capable principals leading our schools. In recent years, Plano ISD has seen many of its best teachers and principals leave. Why? If we want Plano ISD to remain at the top, we must change our approach. I will work to retain our best educators, ensure fair and competitive compensation, and create an environment where great teachers want to stay and grow.
College readiness and critical thinking are essential components of modern education. We must move beyond test-driven instruction and foster a culture of innovation that prepares our students for the rapidly evolving job market. A well-rounded education includes not only academics but also extracurricular activities such as sports, band, orchestra, and clubs that contribute to personal growth and leadership development.
Financial responsibility is another fundamental principle that I will uphold. Over the past four years, Plano ISD has operated with a deficit budget, using emergency funds for non-essential projects. We need greater financial discipline to ensure that taxpayer dollars are allocated efficiently, transparently, and in ways that directly benefit students, teachers, and classrooms.
I am running for the Plano ISD School Board because I believe in a brighter future for our schools and community. By working together, we can provide our children with the best education possible—one that equips them with the skills, knowledge, and character to succeed in life.
I ask for your support and your vote to ensure that Plano ISD remains a leader in education. Together, we can shape the future of our schools and the future of our children.
